AN animal rescue organisation have held a successful Easter Hunt and Dog Show.
St Giles Animal Rescue, which is based in Wrantage near Taunton, cares for abused, abandoned and displaced animals.
The Easter Hunt and Dog Show proved a big success, drawing in dogs of all shapes and sizes (along with their humans).
Somerset Gazette editor, Tim Lethaby, attended the event. Tim is also a patron for the rescue centre.
The St Giles Animal Rescue Centre chair of trustees has said: "On behalf of myself, fellow Trustees and animals in our care, can I say a massive thank you to everyone who came to our Easter Egg Hunt.
"It is true to say that without our loyal supporters these events would not be able to take place. Can I also say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff and volunteers for all their hard work in organising and ensuring that the event was successful.
"All the hard work that goes into preparing for these events is largely invisible. Again, we could not go ahead without the volunteers on the day from car parking, putting up gazebos to running the restaurant, they all gave up their time for free.
"Can I also say a big thank you to Tim Letherby (our Patron) and Vanessa Linnell for judging the dog show, not an easy thing to do when every dog is a winner.
"Another big thank you needs to go to Bramble and Wilde providing the Easter eggs and to Goodchaps & Your Dogs Club for providing goodies for Best In Show & Reserve.
"Thank you to all the stall holders who came along to support us. It is always wonderful to see so many dogs and children enjoying themselves. The rain stayed away, and I can truthfully say it was a very successful event and raised much needed funds."
