EXMOOR Young Voices (EYV) is supporting young people on the moor interested in building their own affordable homes.

"Our biggest challenge so far is finding building land. So we’re appealing to all landowners on Exmoor and asking, would you be willing to sell a parcel of land to a local family?"

"We encourage you to show your generosity and do your bit to support the next generation on Exmoor, enabling young people to continue living where they call home."

Selling land at an affordable rate isn’t the only way you can support the EYV Self Build Project. We’re also keen to hear from those willing to:

  • Contribute building materials
  • Share their skills
  • Loan heavy equipment & tools
  • Help fund individual builds when they hit financial barriers

Lead by Self Build Expert Justin Tyers Over 50 enquiries in the last 3 years 15 young couples / individuals actively pursuing self builds on Exmoor EYV has partnered with a social enterprise lender for self build loans /grant opportunities EYV has received funding for a Self Build book by Justin Tyers to be published in May 2023 Exmoor Young Voices (EYV) is supporting young people on the moor interested in building their own affordable homes.

Exmoor Young Voices (EYV) is an organisation of young residents and workers on the moor tackling issues including housing, digital inclusion, employment, communications, travel and locale wages.
