A FORMER world record marathon runner has praised a four-year-old for taking her beaming smile to weekly park runs, writes Jake Poolton.
The reception student at East Huntspill Primary School takes part in the 2k Cheddar Junior Park Run every Sunday and also also volunteers there.
Mabel recently attended the Burnham and Highbridge Park Run with her dad, a course her family used to push her around it in a pram as a baby.
“It makes me very happy and I love being out running with my dad,” said Mabel.
Paula Radcliffe, who held the marathon world record from 2003 to 2019 in a time of 2 hours, 15 minutes and 25 seconds, sent a message saying: "Mabel, I think you’re amazing and love your energy and attitude towards running.
“Keeping it fun and learning how to get the most out of your body and mind while doing the things you love is a great recipe for success, not just in running but in life.”
