RUNNING Forever Running Club hosted their 1st Solstice Memorial Run at the weekend.
It is an event open to all members to come together and remember those club members who have sadly passed away.
The event ran from 9am until 4pm and was based at the Trull Pavilion.
Runners could then run as many 4-mile loops as they liked taking in the fields of Trull and heading out to Pitminster.
As well as being a running event it was also a great opportunity to raise funds for this Year’s Club Charity, St Margaret’s hospice.
In total with monies raised from the runners and a cake sale were £620.
There were 73 members who took part running at least 1 loop with some more keener members doing 5 loops, which given the temperature was not easy.
As usual with these events it was only possible due to the efforts of the volunteers, who really made the day so enjoyable.
Meanwhile further afield James Palmer tackled the Man v Moor adventure run hosted by Channel Events.
This involved hills, bogs, rocks, rivers, a swim in full gear and a pitch-black tunnel. Judging from the pictures it looked like James enjoyed himself.
If you are interested in joining an inclusive club, membership costs either £27.00 a year for EA registered members (this includes the £17 registration fee which is passed directly to EA) or £10.00 a year for non-registered members, and runs from 1st April to 31st March each year.
