MEMBERS of the National Education Union (NEU) are holding a strike demonstration later this week.
On Friday, July 7, teachers, amongst other members of the union, will meet outside The Market House at 11am.
People are urged to bring placards, whistles, flags, and banners. Families and children are welcome.
It is hoped that the strike demonstrations could put pressure on the government to up staff member's pay and funding for the schools.
Posting on Twitter, a spokesperson from the NEU South West Region said: "No teacher wants to do this, but education is in crisis. If Gillian Keegan wants to stop the strikes, she must restart talks, publish the STRB report & fully fund a decent pay rise."
PA Media added: “The union said sixth form college teachers have seen a 20 per cent cut in real terms pay since 2010.”
