WITH 10 days to go before Taunton Pride returns, organisers and key partners are working to ensure the final elements are in place.

Pride celebrations will be taking place in Taunton in the run-up to the main event on Saturday, July 22, in Vivary Park from noon.

The Computer World Club Night Pre-Pride Party is being thrown in The Lawns on Saturday, July 15, from 7.30pm till late.

It promises a night of synth pop classics, disco divas and the best from decades past - for tickets email computerworldclubtaunton@gmail.com.

Then Taunton Brewhouse is holding its Pride Film Festival, starting on Monday, July 17, at 11am with Rent, followed by Desert Hearts on the Tuesday 18, at 7pm, Joyland on Thursday 20, at 7pm, and Bros, on Friday 21, at 7pm. Tickets are available from the Brewhouse box office or via tauntonbrewhouse.co.uk.

The main event on the Saturday will begin with a Pride march leaving Goodland Gardens at around 11.45am, passing through North Street, up High Street and into Vivary Park.

There the ToneFM main stage will host acts ranging from Eurovision legend Nicky French, the voice of Bizarre Inc Angie Brown, house diva Amrick Channa and drag cabaret legend and former contestant of RuPaul’s Drag Race Joe Black, plus host Arina Fox, and Taunton's Valerie Von Hussle.

Organisers still have other acts to announce.

And alongside the live entertainment you will find 70 exhibitors, street food, traders and community groups, Dorothy’s Silent Disco, the Pride funfair, Speakers' Corner and a wellbeing zone.

Tickets will be available until the day of the event.

Currently costing £7.50, they can either be purchased at www.tauntonpride.co.uk or at Taunton Visitor Centre, on Fore Street.

Tickets on the day will be available from the onsite box office at £10.00 per person. Tickets permit re-entry to the event as many times as visitors like.

The event has been made possible partners including ToneFM, Every’s Solicitors, The Somerset County Gazette, Crescent Funeral Services, First Bus, Suez Waste Collection, Claims Consortium Group, Somerset Council, Taunton Town Council, Somerset Jobs and Hertz Van Rental.

Organisers are still looking for volunteers to come forward on the day.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: "If you can spare three hours, entry to the event for volunteers is free and you’ll be helping the community create something special for Taunton, and our

surrounding areas.

"We're really looking forward to another event in Vivary Park, and this year the event has been focused to celebrate 'Your Pride, Your Way'.

"It’s going to be a real chance for all to celebrate every aspect of life in a safe and inclusive environment.”
