The Taunton Flower Show takes place this Friday and Saturday, August 4 and 5, and has plenty to offer besides flowers and plants.
Each day has a full programme of music and entertainment from mid-morning onward, with acts in the arena and on the Wilton Stage.
On both days the arena programme features the exciting BMX Show bikers performing their breathtaking tricks. There is also equestrian stunt rider Nicky de Neumann, and Nick Gregory’s gundog display, demonstrating their training stages from puppy onwards. Each act will perform twice each day.
On the Wilton Stage, Friday sees jazz and swing singer Miss Ivy Belle performing songs from the 1920s to the 50s as well as modern numbers with a vintage twist. The Rock Choir will sing a selection of well-known tunes. Singer-songwriter Dean Dyson presents classic covers, and the Brass Junkies will perform New Orleans style jazz, pop, funk and soul covers, from funky New Orleans classics to Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder and Prince.
Saturday’s performers on the Wilton Stage are Cameron Lemmer singing in a range of styles including swing, soul, pop and Motown, Dean Dyson again, and the Batala Bristol Samba Reggae Drumming Band playing rousing Afro-Brazilian rhythms.
