A MOTORIST from the Mendip area has been hammered with a court bill of over £1,300 for driving without the correct licence.
Callum Connor Carter, 25, of Brimscombe Meadow, Chilcompton, was found guilty at Taunton Magistrates' Court in his absence of the offence and also of driving without insurance.
The charges related to an incident on the A367 in Dunkerton on October 8 last year.
For driving without the correct licence, Carter was fined £220 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £352, along with an £85 contribution towards prosecution costs.
For the offence of driving without insurance, he was fined a further £660 and received six penalty points on his driving licence
Magistrates said the total court bill of £1.317 should be paid by August 15.
