TAUNTON Rugby Football Club has confirmed the forwards pack that will be lining up for the Titans in the upcoming National One season.
A number of familiar faces will be returning for another year of rugby at Taunton.
A spokesperson from the club said: "Taunton RFC is delighted to announce the retention of some key players for the Titans squad for the 2023/24 National One Campaign."
To start with the props, Will Vaughan, Alex Rodd, Brian Ncube and Isaac Dalton will be back for another season.
'Sniffer' as he is known by his teammates, joined from Exmouth RFC back in 2017 and has been a regular name on the Titans' team sheet since then.
In 2019/2020 season Isaac was awarded the title of National League 2 Player of the Season after a huge season in which he was the leading try scorer during Taunton's promotion effort.
In the hooker role Alex Spurdle and George Gosling will be back this year and rotating the position throughout the season.
Head Coach Tony Yapp endorsed Gosling, saying: "George rolls his sleeves up and gets on with things and we like that."
"He doesn't say a lot but when he does speak, people tend to listen and that's what we want in a leader."
In the second row Sam Knott, Sam Leworthy and Harry Wright are signed on for the campaign ahead.
All three compliment eachother well and while they offer different strengths, they all contribute greatly to the Titans success.
In the back row, Ratu Vakalutukali, Charlie Wright, Ben Oliphant-Thompson and Sam Prior will make up the pack.
Ratu will be looking to lead by example in the 23/24 season as a senior member of the playing group.
"As a senior player I know there is a responsibility for me to have a positive influence on the younger lads and I try to lead by example," he said.
"When I first joined the club the senior players helped me feel welcome and involved and I will do the same now."
And Sam Prior will be out to do the same as he brings with him experience from his time with Exeter Chiefs last year.
The club has also said that the list of backs who will take to the pitch this season will be confirmed in the coming days.
They have also teased a few new signings which will be announced shortly.
