POLICE are investigating two recent incidents in which shops were damaged in Taunton town centre.
Avon and Somerset Police said they “will carry out enquiries” after shops in St James’ Street and Riverside Place were damaged.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We are aware of two incidents in which windows of two shops in Taunton were damaged overnight on Monday 7 August and Thursday 10 August.
"On 7 August at around 4am, officers were patrolling in the town centre when they heard an alarm coming from a business in Riverside Place.
"Officers attended to find windows had been damaged and a possible burglary had taken place.
“They contacted the owner and are now carrying out CCTV trawls as part of an ongoing investigation.
"On 10 August, we received a call from the owners of a business in St James' Street reporting an attempted burglary and criminal damage had taken place overnight.
"Officers will be making contact with the business owner and will carry out enquiries.
