DEALERS are returning in their droves to an antiques market in Taunton that recently established itself.
Antiques on High in Silver Street now holds a regular Monday antiques market and is attracting former antique dealers to return to the fray.
Gill Griffen is already re-instating herself and a selection of stock after leaving the previous Silver Street market a number of years ago.
Dave Burt, who is well known locally and has been described by TV antiques personality David Harper as "one of the nicest antiques dealers in Britain", was the first trader to move back in soon quickly after the premises were taken over by Antiques on High.
With the company's fifth store recently acquired in Harrogate, in North Yorkshire, owners Vincent Page and Lesley White have been kept busy, although the distance between the outlets doesn’t seem to put them off.
Mr Page said: "Harrogate had been on the cards for a while, but the Taunton centre has changed so much with many former dealers showing an interest in coming back, which is very encouraging.
"The stories they can tell you about their time here can be most amusing, but many of them take a cabinet in the shop as well, and with the shop open seven days a week it works very well for all concerned as they have the opportunity to sell their stock throughout the week."
