A TEENAGER was wounded in a Somerset park while being attacked by a young person wielding a "bladed article".
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident after which the victim was treated in hospital last Wednesday (August 30).
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said the teenager was walking along a footpath in Ninesprings Country Park at between 7.30pm and 8pm "when he was attacked with a bladed article".
The spokesperson added: "The victim was taken to hospital with multiple cuts.
"Thankfully, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening."
The suspect is described as 16 to 18-years-old, approximately 5ft 10in to 6ft tall, of slim build, with a full but thin beard. He was wearing a branded black tracksuit.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team are conducting additional reassurance patrols in the area and anyone with concerns can speak with any of them.
The spokesperson said: "If you were in the area at the time of the incident, or know someone who matches this description, please contact us.
"If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5223210574 , or complete our online appeals form."
Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via its anonymous online form.
No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.
