Flash flooding has forced Avon and Somerset Police to close a number of roads in Minehead this morning, (Sunday, September 17).
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are working to clear flood water from Townsend Road, Ponsford Road, The Avenue, Alcombe Road, King George Road Mark Road and Park Street from the junction of Parkhouse Road in West Somerset.
The police are also urging for people to "please avoid all non-essential travel in West Somerset today. We are experiencing extreme weather conditions and there is flooding in many areas."
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue say they are experiencing a high number of calls about flooding today.
