A ROAD in West Somerset will be closed tomorrow to allow flood clean-up operations.
Somerset Council said the A39 between Williton and Holford is closing between 8pm and 6am on Tuesday, September 19, and Wednesday, September 20.
A spokesperson added: “We’ll be reinstating some studs and completing road marking on the areas we surface dressed earlier in the summer. Thanks for your patience, and please plan ahead.”

The council also said that today (September 18) teams will also “be out at the A39 Withycombe clearing up shortly under stop and go signs, following yesterday's flooding”.
West Somerset was affected by flash floods yesterday (Sunday, September 17) after the heavy downpours.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were working to clear flood water from Townsend Road, Ponsford Road, The Avenue, Alcombe Road, King George Road Mark Road, and Park Street from the junction of Parkhouse Road in West Somerset.
The police were also urging people to "please avoid all non-essential travel in West Somerset” because of the “extreme weather conditions”.
