WELLINGTON Carnival lit up the town yesterday evening (Saturday, September 30) with plenty of sparkling fun.
People turned out to line the route of the procession from its start in Rockwell Green to its end at the Lidl roundabout.
Almost 60 entries from various carnival clubs, groups and individuals took part in the procession, which included spectacular carts from big name carnivalites Gemini, Rubalo, Nunsford Nutters and Harlequin.
The event captured the imagination of people of all ages, with pupils from Beech Grove Primary School and Wellington Majorettes taking part, while 100-year-old Madge Covey put in a guest appearance in a Sunbeam car bought in the town a century ago.
