AN uninsured motorist has been banned from driving.
Gary John Tomlinson, 46, of The Archers Way, Glastonbury, committed the offence at Whitstone Hill, Pilton, on February 6 this year.
He was given a six-month disqualification from holding a driving licence when he appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (October 11).
Magistrates said the ban was "obligatory" due to "repeat offending" after handing Tomlinson eight penalty points on his driving licence, taking him over the totting up total for disqualification.
He was also fined £350 and ordered to pay a £140 victim surcharge, along with a £90 contribution towards prosecution costs.
The court in Weston told Tomlinson he must pay the total court bill of £580 by December 2.
