A CANDLE placed inside a plastic Halloween skull has caused a fire in the dining room of a house in Frome.
The incident happened yesterday (Tuesday, October 31) in a mid-terraced house on Wallbridge Avenue.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews attended a report of a fire within the dining room of a mid-terraced house on Wallbridge Avenue, Frome involving Halloween decorations.
“The fire was caused by a candle tea light placed inside of a plastic Halloween skull. Approximately five per cent fire damage and 60 per cent smoke damage.
“Crews extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet, a thermal imaging camera, and a positive pressure fan.
"The cause of the fire was accidental.”
