A TAUNTON venue has been named the best in the South West.
The Creative Innovation Centre CIC scooped the 'Best Community Arts & Culture Venue 2023 – South West England' award on November 15, recognising its crucial role in bolstering the regional culture and arts sector.
The prestigious accolade is given by the SME Southern Enterprise programme (part of SME News), which honours British businesses solely on merit.
CICCIC’s co-founding director, Richard Holt, expressed pride in this recognition: "We are honoured to be recognised for the hard work our team and the amazing community of Taunton have done in making this award a great end to 2023."
This recent win adds to CICCIC's previous laurels: the 'Cultural Diversity' award in 2018 and the 'Best Creative Sector Support‘ award in 2020 and 2021.
Fellow co-founding director, Andrew Knutt, said: "Developing creative practice and providing a diverse range of arts and culture in our community is key to our DNA and being recognised for the hard work we have done throughout Taunton and the region is an honour to receive and we all look forward in seeing more developments in 2024".
Award Coordinator Holly Morris, also commended this year’s programme recipients, hoping they all have a "fantastic new year".
