ALLERFORD Village Shop and Post Office has opened under new managers following renovations.

Local business owners Emma and Connor Thrush, from the Selworthy Pantry, welcomed customers through the door on Saturday (November 18).

Villagers and visitors were invited along to celebrate with tea and cake.

Emma said: "We were overwhelmed with the kindness and support shown by local people.

"We are very excited to be running the rural post office and becoming the hub for the community.

"Our shelves are now stocked with fresh bakery bread, locally baked cakes and pies, plus our shelves are fully stocked with locally produced and staple goods."

The business is also an information point for the Exmoor National Park and stocks a variety of local walking maps.

It is also now the home of the award winning preserves company The Selworthy Pantry, with a full range of its products in store."

Emma and Connor are planning to open their tea gardens in spring 2024, where they will continue to serve their award winning cream teas and light lunches.
