WEST Somerset Green Forum WSGF launched in December 2022, incorporating Forum 21 and West Somerset Together.
It is a voluntary group with a board of directors, dedicated to raising environmental issues and fighting climate change by continuing to support carbon-reducing and nature-supporting initiatives.

Here are three examples of ongoing work of WSGF:
Energy project
This has three main prongs:
- Giving advice on energy efficiency and surveys and providing invaluable help to navigate schemes for getting home improvements installed.
- Giving surviving winter grants for people over 50.
- Providing low cost wood from our community woodland for all ages.

Community transport
This has two main prongs:
- Promotion of transition to and acquisition of electric vehicles to mitigate climate change.
- Launching and maintaining community car schemes.
(EVIE Here 4YOU) is a vital, dedicated, community-owned (Watchet, Sampford Brett and Bicknoller) electric vehicle run by Watchet Town Council that provides a roll-on roll-off service for wheelchair users as well as carrying up to four passengers.
David Croxton, one of our directors, currently chairs West Somerset Community Car Scheme Partnership which aims to support the 17 local community car schemes run by parish community volunteers. WSGF, together with Somerset Community Council, helped launch a new Minehead Community Car Scheme and Atwest also continue to grow successfully their fleet of Slinky and other mini bus services.

Community Woodland
WSGF has taken on a license to manage an area of woodland on North Hill in Minehead, which is owned by Exmoor National Park. It is being managed sustainably by volunteers to improve the wildlife habitat and to supply logs for anyone in fuel poverty. It also provides valuable socialising areas for parents and children.
