An employee from a Taunton-based business has received international recognition.
Master distiller at Mainline Spirits, Rich Hudson, earned a special commendation in The Spirits Business's Distiller/Producer of the Year category.
Mr Hudson, competing with industry leaders such as Jack Daniel’s and Tanqueray, said: "I am happy to be just pipped to the post by one of Australia's top distilleries.
"Runner up is far better than most think could be achieved by starting in a garden shed just over a year ago.
"The 26 medals across our range are a testament to our skill and passion for spirits."
This accolade further cements the Taunton-based company's commitment to excellence and innovation in the highly competitive spirits sector.
Mr Hudson also took the opportunity to thank his wife, Terri, for her support.
He said: "I owe a debt of gratitude to my wife, Terri, for holding the household together and tirelessly promoting our products while I focus on distilling.
"Running a multi-award-winning distillery is quite challenging, especially with two young children."
Mainline Spirits plans to continue its pursuit of spirit craftsmanship in 2024 and aims for further success in the industry.
