Stephens Scown LLP, a B Corp™ Certified law firm, has recently announced the appointment of two new partners as the Taunton business continues to expand.
The law firm, which became an employee-owned entity in July 2023, has continued to fortify its position in Somerset with these new additions.
Robin Koolhoven and Lizzie Smith have brought their expertise to enhance the company's stronghold in the greater South West region.
Ms Smith, who has spent over ten years advising on the financial elements of relationship breakdowns, is an expert in divorce, financial settlements, financial support for children post-divorce, and enforcement issues, to name a few.
Aside from her skills in collaborative law, she brings additional expertise to the firm's top-rated family team.
Recognised as an 'Associate to Watch' in the Chambers and Partners Guide, she extends the law firm's capacity to serve a broader client base.
Robin Koolhoven, with his experience in managing contentious and non-contentious insolvency, commercial contracts, and finance, strengthens the company's restructuring and insolvency team.
Mr Koolhoven teams up with Andrew Knox, who heads the restructuring and insolvency team based in Exeter, and senior associate Sean Jenner.
With his appointment, Stephens Scown LLP is in a position to offer better support to businesses seeking advice in this particular area.
Stephen Wray, who leads the Firm's Somerset team, said: "With an increased presence in the county, Stephens Scown’s full-service offer continues to support business owners with day-to-day challenges, helping them to achieve their strategic goals, and guide individuals through life’s challenges and achieve positive outcomes."
The law firm's continuous growth in Somerset demonstrates its potential to serve a wide range of businesses and individuals.
Richard Baker, the managing partner, said: "Our people are passionate about the sectors and clients they work with and devote time and energy to developing a deeper understanding of their challenges and aspirations, building long-lasting client relationships.
"Lizzie and Robin will help take us to the next level, with additional exciting appointments planned in the near future."
