A Frome author has released a new children's book, donating its profits to charity.
Benny the Boar, written by Martin Sheills, aims to captivate five to eight-year-olds with a colourful four-legged character that was inspired by a woodland walk.
Mr Sheills explains: "This is my first printed book.
"It was originally a rap, I was walking in the woods with some friends and one of us thought she saw a boar, which is probably unlikely, whom she decided to call Benny".
Having been a writer of poems and songs for nearly two decades, he shared that he draws inspiration from his own experiences, using it as a therapeutic practice.
Showcasing his fondness for natural life, he said: "Recently I’ve written a few poems about furry creatures and I’m hoping to make it a series of books".
Proceeds from Benny the Boar will go to the UN World Food Programme.
To buy a copy of the book, visit Martin Sheills' Etsy page where it is priced at £5 plus postage: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1621675527/benny-the-boar?gpla=1&gao=1&.
