WHETHER you're a proud film fanatic or not, chances are, if you're from Somerset, you've watched Hot Fuzz.
The film famously featuring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost was shot mostly within the county, particularly in the small city of Wells.
Those acquainted with the film will know new-town copper Nicholas Angel finds himself inebriated at the local pub on his first night out in the fictional town of Sandford.
Well that pub is in fact also open for business in the real world, and is incredibly popular among locals and visitors to Wells.
The Crown is a stunning building located in Wells Market Square, very near to the fountain which also features heavily in the film.
It's immediately clear of the pub's Hollywood stardom on approach, as a sign advertising 'Hot Fuzz Film Location Tours' stands proudly outside.
Stepping inside however, it becomes obvious that The Crown is in fact far from a big-screen gimmick, and actually an exceptional inn.
Wooden tables and chairs adorn the pub's interior, paired with interesting old paintings of the local area on the walls, and calming, pleasant music in the background.
The pub also serves meals, and features 15 bedrooms to stay in upstairs.
At the bar, several draught options were available, including Thatchers Rascal, Butcombe Bitter, Doom Bar Ale, and of course Guinness.
However, I felt I'd be doing our readers disservice if I didn't sample the Wookey Brewing Co's Supernatural Hot Fuzz IPA.
I sat down near a window, looking out onto the Wells Market Square, whilst reminiscing on the funniest scenes from the film, and sipping my pint - which ranked highly among the most enjoyable I've had.
Looking up, I noticed a police vest from the film itself was actually framed and displayed on the wall - a nice touch, I thought.
Upon closer inspection, there was a photograph of some of the film's cast stood behind the very bar I'd just ordered my drink from - surreal!
Whether you have or haven't watched Hot Fuzz, I'd definitely recommend heading to The Crown in Wells for a drink or wholesome meal.
