A GOOD Samaritan who “simply wanted to do the right thing” contacted police officers as he found the lost wages of a young barber just before Christmas.
The weeks’ wages were lost earlier this month in Wells city centre.
A spokesperson for the Mendip Neighbourhood Policing group said: “Earlier in the month, a young barber from Wells lost their weeks’ wages in the city centre area.
“After an appeal to local community groups from family, friends, and colleagues, a kind-hearted individual approached local officers, having found the lost wages.
“This person was unaware of the appeals, wanted no thanks or recognition, and simply wanted to ‘do the right thing’.
“The money has since been returned to the barber just in time for Christmas.”
