AN iconic gift shop in Wiveliscombe is closing down on Saturday (January 6).
Owner Alison McKinley is shutting up shop at The Carousel Pig, in High Street, which she originally opened in 1989.
Since then it has attracted people from near and far interested in its collection of gifts, cards and decorative interiors, which she describes as "an eclectic emporium of all sorts of things".
She has been running a bumper closing down sale of gift items and shop fittings ahead of her retirement.
She has posted on Facebook: "As I embark on a life changing New Year, I can't thank enough all my amazing supportive customers and wish you every happiness in 2024 and hope your dreams come true."
The shop will not be vacant for long as a new occupier has already come forward.
Local authoress Ally Kennan is taking over the premises, which she will be running as a book shop.
