A LAKESIDE wedding venue which has run up to eight events annually over the last three years has gained planning consent for a further 20 events a year.

Waterside Country Barn, on the outskirts of Bradford-on-Tone, boasts a stunning backdrop for events of all sizes.

It offers a variety of customisable spaces, including a beautiful barn, the stylish ‘Blue Room’, and a picturesque outdoor setting, with decking and a gazebo overlooking the wildlife-friendly lake.

The development is welcomed by locals, corporate companies and brides and grooms nationwide.

It also offers an on-site co-ordinator to enable each event to run smoothly.

A number of Somerset venues have closed since Covid, leading to huge demand and a lack of venues such as Waterside Country Barn, which can host up to 250 people.

Georgia Venn, owner and events manager, said: "The increase of the frequency of events allows for us to honour more enquiries for weddings and other events, such as family celebrations, celebrations of life and wakes, charity events, corporate events, fetes and shows etc.

"We are so pleased the council have shown support for the growth of our small, rural, family business.”

The development offers employment opportunities for a range of locals including, bar, waiting and kitchen staff, cleaners, security, traffic management and ground-keepers.

Waterside Country Barn proudly supports Somerset-based suppliers and partners within a 10-mile radius where possible - local caterers, cake makers, florists, hair and beauty salons, and taxi and public transport services will all benefit from this expansion.

Alongside the exclusive use of the stunning events barn in a six-acre field, there are four glamping units sleeping up to 10.

The venue has recently expanded and now features a commercial kitchen, stylish disabled, baby changing and male and female restrooms and the ‘Blue Room’ with a solid walnut table that doubles as a pool table.

Waterside Country Barn also a range of services including event planning, catering, and decor, all aimed at making wedding and event planning as stress-free as possible.
