A TAUNTON business selling products to promote sustainable living has reopened after moving to a new location.

My Carbon Coach could be found on Station Road for the past two years, but the business's owner Tim Walker couldn't pass up on the opportunity to relocate to Taunton Independent Quarter.

"I closed my doors like many other small businesses on Saturday, December 23 and enjoyed a few calm and lovely days off with family over Christmas before the hard work began," he explained.

"I reopened my little eco shop at 18 Lower Middle Street on Friday, January 5, so it took just under two weeks.Somerset County Gazette: The shop sells a range of products designed to help reduce customers' carbon footprints. The shop sells a range of products designed to help reduce customers' carbon footprints. Tim was able to complete most of the work himself thanks to being "quite handy with a paintbrush", but he had help from his wife, friends and parents, who worked together to renovate the former restaurant building.

"The exterior still needs re-painting, but that's a small downside to moving over the festive period and it'll be done shortly in the next week or so, it's all good," Tim added.

Tim has been overwhelmed with positivity from customers since My Carbon Coach opened in the independent quarter, which he described as a "vibrant and buzzing" location.

"It feels amazing to be in this new location," he said.

"It's a fresh start for a fresh year, and to be surrounded by so many other wonderful independent shops in a vibrant and buzzing part of town is just what I needed.

"I've only been open for a day and a half and the feedback has been so positive and touching.

"It's inspiring and hopefully the shop will help even more people to make small changes for the planet and environment now."

My Carbon Coach first opened in Station Road in September 2021 after Tim graduated from the Open University with a degree in Environmental Science.

He initially set up the business when he was studying as a way of making information about environmental issues and the climate crisis accessible – and from there, things have only grown in magnitude.

The shop sells low and no-waste household items to help customers reduce their carbon footprint and impact on the world.

All the products Tim sells are cruelty-free, vegan and locally sourced.
