Wells has been ranked as the best city to win someone's heart in the UK, based on the unusual factor of sharing dessert with someone.

Previous research from Purdue University in Indiana, USA found that a dinner date with a shared dessert at the end could really "ignite the flames of passion" in a potential couple.

Writing in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, they said research reveals that sweet taste and feelings of love share a similar part of the brain.

Therefore, the activation of areas associated with sweet taste experiences may be linked with romantic perception, The Express reports.

From this, they worked out the rankings by calculating which cities had the highest number of 4/5 and above dessert restaurants per 100,000 people which gave them the breakdown of the best cities to win someone's heart.
