A Taunton author wants to bring poetry back into the lives of many with the release of his first book of original poems.
Paul Edward Skirton has made significant strides with Everything is Smoke.
He began writing later in life, and the inspiration swiftly ensued, driving him to inspire ordinary people with his work.
His vision aligned with Austin Macauley Publishers, who swiftly agreed to publish his manuscript.
Mr Skirton expressed his delight at the support he received from local bookstore, Waterstones.
He said: "The support Waterstones has shown me as a local author has been amazing.
"Once I realised my book was being published, all I wanted was to see my work on the shelves in Waterstones, I feel very privileged".
The Taunton-based Waterstones has since agreed to stock Everything is Smoke on their shelves.
In addition to having his work published, Mr Skirton also features on Sedgemoor FM.
He is now a regular on Neil Bird's afternoon show, which airs every Monday between 1 to 3pm.
Expressing his delight at having a local poet on his show, Neil Bird said: "Poetry is great for radio, providing a unique auditory experience.
"I wanted to add an element of calmness and reflection to my afternoon show.
"Finding a local poet to share his poetry on the air has been amazing, and Paul’s contribution to the afternoon show has inspired others".
