A TAUNTON motorist who drove at twice the speed limit on a notorious stretch of road just outside Taunton has been banned.
Adam Philip Jones, 28, of South Street, was previously found guilty in his absence at a hearing at Taunton Magistrates' Court.
At a sentencing hearing, magistrates heard he was caught doing 60mph in a 30mph limit on the A358 at Henlade, on February 11 last year,
He was fined £440 and must pay a victim surcharge of £264, plus £90 towards prosecution costs.
Magistrates handed him six penalty points and disqualified him from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 month "due to repeat offending".

He must pay his total court bill of £794 by February 27.
Jones was fined £650 with a £260 victim surcharge and £90 costs last year for driving at 92mph on the 60mph Ilminster Bypass.
He wasn't banned on that occasion due to the effect it would have had on family members.
