A Frome author has announced a new book that tells the story over 150 years of a family cursed to lose their true love.
The latest work from Keith Stuart, of A Boy Made of Blocks and BBC Two's The Frequency of Us fame, is titled Love Is A Curse.
The narrative is skilfully woven through the perspective of Cammy, a woman warned of the family curse that dooms the women to lose their beloved.
It unfolds when Cammy's world is shattered as her new boyfriend is hit by a car.
Distraught and blaming herself, she delves into her family's 150-year past, sifting through letters, diaries, and art by generations of women who also suffered broken hearts.
The story weaves an entrancing blend of the ordinary and remarkable, the beautiful and tragic, in trying to demystify whether the family curse is truth or a mere myth.
Praised for creating evocative, stunning prose, Mr Stuart has been dubbed by the Mail on Sunday as "the publishing sensation of the year" for his novel 'A Boy Made of Blocks.'
He has also written the bestselling 'The Frequency of Us,' which was chosen for BBC2 Between the Covers and Radio 4's Book at Bedtime.
Keith Stuart was also the games editor for The Guardian and has written for Empire, Red, and Esquire.
He also penned the heart-warming 'Days of Wonder,' which garnered acclaim for its humour and emotional depth.
Love Is A Curse will be available on April 25, priced at £20 for hardback versions.
