A POLICE constable who also served in the Mendips is retiring after 28 years.
Avon and Somerset Police announced Simon Humphrey’s retirement today (Thursday, February 15).
Mr Humphrey served in St Pauls, Bristol, before coming to the Mendips.
A police spokesperson said: “Mendip East Neighbourhood Team, today (Thursday, February 15) say fond farewell to PC Simon Humphrey who is retiring after 28 years of serving the public.
“Having served in the Metropolitan Police before coming over to Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Simon served in St Pauls, Bristol, before coming down to the Mendips.
“He has been an excellent officer and colleague and will be greatly missed.
“We wish him the very best in his retirement.”
