I WAS out and about today when I noticed a shop window which hadn't caught my eye before.
The shop in question - Daniel's & Co - a small and charming sandwich bar and café positioned neatly on Queen Street in Wells.
I stepped inside hoping to pick up a standard pre-made sandwich, and found myself astonished by what laid before me.
A huge array of homemade filling options and extras were available to choose from across the two counters, as well as the option for a sandwich, sub, or even a jacket potato.
There were also several incredible looking homemade cakes on display.
I took my time choosing my options, in order to construct the ultimate sandwich to fill me up.
After lengthy deliberation, I settled on a granary sub, with Cajun chicken in mayo, bacon, lettuce, cheese, and sweet chilli sauce - and of course a Fanta fruit twist to wash it down with.
I was shocked at how cheap the food was from Daniel's as sandwiches start from just £3.50 - incredible value for such good quality, healthy food.
There is a deceptively large seating area for those who want to sit down to eat, but I opted to take my food away and get on with my work for the day.
When I unwrapped my sub, I was very pleased with the generous portion size I had been given, with the bread almost bursting at the seams due to the immense amount of filling inside.
To put it simply - it was just sensational. It's hard to pinpoint the best part, as it was all so good, but I particularly enjoyed the granary sub, which was deliciously chewy, and packed with flavour.
The bacon was cooked to perfection, the chicken was even tastier than expected, and the lettuce was fresh and crisp.
I loved everything about my visit to Daniel's Sandwich Bar and Café.
The friendly staff, array of options, generous portion, quality and taste of food, plus the value for money, was really something to behold, and I will definitely be back for more.
