A PERSON has been taken to hospital after a car hit a road sign in Taunton town centre.
Officers were called to the scene of the incident on Billetfield at around 2.10pm this afternoon (February 19).
They worked with the fire crews to organise the car’s recovery.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “We were called shortly after 2.10pm this afternoon (February 19) to a report that a car had collided with a road sign on Billetfield, Taunton.
“Officers attended alongside the fire service and helped organise the vehicle's recovery.
“They remain at the scene.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 13:57hrs on Monday 19 February.
"We sent a double-crewed land ambulance, a doctor and an operations officer and we conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital.”
