'THE UK's favourite sweet shop' has officially opened a branch in Taunton town centre as of today (Monday, March 11).

The all encompassing sweet-treats shop on the High Street opened at 9am, and will remain open until 5:30pm on every day of the week for the foreseeable future.

The Taunton store is the company’s 13th, and the second in Somerset, after the branch that opened in Yeovil just before Christmas.

A spokesperson for SoSweet said: “Our Taunton SoSweet store will be opening on Monday, March 11, 2024.

"The new store will create six permanent jobs with seasonal increases as well.

“This will be our second SoSweet store within Somerset, after opening in Yeovil on December 2, 2023 with great success and a warm welcome from the town.

“The UK's favourite sweet shop, SoSweet, is celebrating its 10th birthday this year, with now a total of 13 stores across the South West as well as a huge online presence on their website and social media.

“We take pride in offering a huge selection of Pick'n'Mix, timeless retro sweets, American imports, freeze-dried candy and so much more.

“SoSweet is extremely excited to be opening its doors in Taunton and can't wait to welcome customers from Monday, March 11.”
