GREENSLADE Taylor Hunt was delighted with the success of its first property auction of 2024 at the Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, at the end of last month (February).
Prior to the sale a unique plot of land in in the heart of Shepton Mallet was sold in a pre-auction deal for in excess of the £7,500 guide. Due to its central location, it offered a number of potential uses, subject to the necessary planning consents.
On sale day itself, the firm offered an excellent range of re-development opportunities.
The undoubted highlight was a remarkable four-bedroom Georgian townhouse, in need of complete renovation, set within the historic and prestigious Wyatt Court, Hinton St George.
Spirited bidding for the property, in the sought-after village, which comprised 4,200 sq ft of accommodation, parking, garage and garden saw the hammer come down at £225,000.
An excited buyer secured a former public house in the desirable village of Ashill, Ilminster, requiring complete modernisation for £220,000 - £20,000 above the guide.
A former garden centre/café at Birchfield Road, Yeovil, offering an excellent re-development opportunity with potential for a number of uses, also sold for over the guide at £39,000.
Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s next property auctions include Batch Country House, Lympsham, near Weston-super-Mare, on Wednesday, March 27, Thursday, April 25 at the Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, and Wednesday, May 22, at the Aldwick Estate, Redhill, Blagdon, Bristol.
