A KEY road in Somerset linking a junction to an A-road roundabout has been closed for emergency repair works.
Thorne Lane, in Yeovil will be closed from Tuesday, March 12 until Wednesday, March 13 between Tintinhull junction and the A37 roundabout for emergency repairs.
The closure will be in place from 9:30am until 4pm on both days.
Somerset Council issued an urgent five day notice to close the 255-metre stretch of road as soon as possible.
In the notice, the council said: "Somerset Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and after giving notice to the Chief Officer of Police, has issued a Notice, the effect of which is prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along.
"There is no alternative route for this closure.
"The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements."
Milestone Infrastructure will carry out 'patching works' on behalf of Somerset Council over the two-day closure.
