A MAN caught shoplifting in Wellington before he attacked another man has been landed with a compensation bill.
Liam Marcus Martin, who turns 30 on Thursday (March 14), pleaded guilty to both offences when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court.
He changed his pleas after initially denying the offences.
The court hard he stole alcohol to a value unknown from Waitrose on January 21 last year.
For that count he was ordered to pay the company £163 compensation
He also assaulted a man by beating in the town on the same day, for which he must pay compensation of £150.
Martin, of no fixed address, was not ordered to pay a victim surcharge of costs due to his lack of means.
