A NEW deli and farm shop has opened in Williton after a relocation.
The Old Bank is now based on 23 Fore Street, in Williton, having moved from their premises in Bishops Lydeard.
The owners Ivor and Sarah Summers said: “We owned Lydeard Farm Shop in Bishops Lydeard, we bought it in 2019.
“Covid was hard we turned it into a community delivery hub and moved on from there.
“Stuck out on an industrial estate post-Covid with escalating food prices, staffing, electricity, etc we struggled to cover our costs so after sustaining ongoing losses made the decision to close and relocate to a smaller premises.
“Our quiches, pies, scotch eggs, cakes, and traybakes are renowned so we found somewhere smaller to carry on and be more focussed.
“Ivor and I love to make people happy with our food and fresh fruit and vegetables.”
A message on The Old Bank’s website said: “Sarah and Ivor Summers took over the business in August of 2019 and whilst not growing produce in situ they have strived to have a local food & supply chain – taking great pleasure in showcasing many local cottage and small businesses within the shop.
“All produced is purchased locally where possible, as well as from the South West in general, and then UK grown or manufactured where it cannot be sourced from the South West.”
