A care home in Taunton has launched its own Men’s Shed to encourage residents to get together and join in conversation.
The group at Beauchamp House was created to bolster opportunities for male residents to socialise.
It was inspired by Chris, a resident who used to attend The Parrett Community Shed before moving to Beauchamp House.
Chantal, the activities lead for Beauchamp House, said, "We wanted to start our own and were so pleased at the response we got from the other men who were eager to join in.
"The first meeting was a huge success as the residents were chatting, joking, and having a laugh."
During their inaugural meeting, members constructed a wooden flower planter and later shared a beer while discussing their creation.
Chris said: "It was so nice to get together with the other residents.
"I’ve enjoyed being part of a Men’s Shed again."
Terry from The Parrett Community Shed added: "We were pleased to help launch Beauchamp House’s Men’s Shed following the success of our own group."
There are approximately 900 Men’s Sheds in the UK aimed at promoting wellbeing and reducing loneliness.
