TAUNTON Town Council is working on the launch of its first-ever festival to celebrate the town’s culture and creativity.
The council is collaborating with its cultural partners to deliver Taunton Together, an end-of-summer celebration, taking place on Saturday, 28 September 2024.
This event will be Taunton Town Council’s first-ever festival, a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and creativity in the heart of Taunton town centre.
Taunton Town Council is thrilled to be working in partnership with Taunton Theatre Association, Go Create, Somerset County Cricket Ground, Arts Taunton, Taunton Independent Market, Orchard Shopping Centre and the Nominated High Sheriff of Somerset and Taunton Minster and others.
Running from 11am to 7pm, with the first hour being “quiet hour” to support an inclusive and accessible event, there will be something for everyone.
Performances, acts and artists will be located across the town centre, in Somerset Square (riverside area next in front of the Brewhouse), Goodland Gardens, Castle Green, Taunton High Street, Somerset County Cricket Ground and Taunton Minster.
Deputy leader of Taunton Town Council, Councillor Martin Straus said: “We are delighted to be able to host this event, celebrating Taunton’s rich cultural offer and the diversity of our community.
“Holding it at the end of September is a wonderful opportunity to get together as a community before the winter sets in.
“This event will bring Taunton’s communities together, forging connections and friendships that will have a lasting positive impact on the town.
“I would like to thank everyone for their time and contribution in putting this event together”.
