A SMALL group of travellers parked up on the Silk Mills Park & Ride in Taunton on Friday (March 22) evening.
It has been confirmed by a Somerset councillor that the group, at present, consists of seven caravans.
Extra security has been brought to the site to ensure the operations can run as normal.
The arrival of the travellers was reported to Somerset Council and it has confirmed that the legal process to remove them will begin on Monday morning (March 25).
Independent Somerset councillor John Hunt provided an update from the council's transport service manager.
They said: “We are in the process of reporting the incursion to the police and arranging security for the Silk Mills site, which should be in place by around 6pm this evening to protect the building and vehicle compound.
"At present we aim to maintain both the Park & Ride service and our fleet operations from Silk Mills, but if there is any change to this, I will let you know."
"I will provide a further update when we have more information. We will look to commence the legal process on Monday.”
