A HUGE new branch of Poundland is set to open in Somerset this weekend.
The budget retailer is taking over Unit B3 at Bridgwater Retail Park, in Bridgwater, and will welcome customers inside from 8am on Saturday, March 30.
The unit was previously home to Argos, but has been vacant for the past 18 months.
The new branch of Poundland will offer shoppers new ranges from parent company Pepco, with Pepco fashion, plus frozen food, chilled food, plus clothing and homeware, with aims to be 'an alternative to supermarkets'.
Visitors to the new store will be among the first in the UK to see a new range of Poundland products, as part of efforts to overhaul all stores with 2,000 new lines.
The new ranges, powered by parent company Pepco Group, represent the single biggest change in Poundland's general merchandise offer in its 30-plus year history.
Poundland retail director Alan Smallman said: “We are delighted to welcome customers to our brand new store at Bridgwater.
“The shoppers who visit our new store will be among the first to enjoy our extensive new range of products, all backed by the promise we make to ensure every pound goes further.”
