A NEW Caribbean restaurant is set to open in Taunton next month.

Islands, a family-run business serving authentic Caribbean food, cocktails, drinks, and desserts will open at 14 Bath Place at the end of April.

Although the official opening date is not yet confirmed, it will be announced via the restaurant's  Facebook and Instagram pages in due course.

Emma, manager of the new eatery, said: "Our decision to bring Islands to Taunton was fuelled by our passion to share our family's rich culinary heritage with the community here.  

"In addition to our delicious menu offerings of traditional dishes like jerk chicken, curry goat and rum punch cocktails, we will also infuse the ambiance with the vibrant spirit of the Caribbean.... lively music, colourful decor, and friendly service reminiscent of the Caribbean's loving hospitality.

"We have been so encouraged by local residents who have stopped by during the fit-out currently taking place at our new home for Islands - 14 Bath Place, TA14EP - they have been so excited to hear we will be serving Caribbean food. 

"The feedback and love shown has been incredible!"
