A PUBLIC meeting is set to be held in Wellington in April so that residents can have their say on the town's future.
The meeting, which is being organised by the local branch of the Liberal Democrats, will take place at Castle Scout Hall, off Fore Street, from 6.30pm on Tuesday, April 9.
Keith Wheatley, town councillor, will chair the meeting.
Keith said: “Is Wellington on the brink of a renaissance?
“Like towns across the country, ours has had its fair share of bad news. Despite all this, our town is increasingly shaping a better future for itself.
“Bright sparks of community action are beginning to stand out.
“Members of the public are warmly invited to come and hear more from speakers with experience in Network Rail, the NHS, at Cash Access UK and on the town council."
Keith also outlined some of the questions being addressed.
He said: "How can we improve our NHS?
“How does the new Banking Hub work?
“How can we get our Post Office back?
“How can we ensure the new station is a success for the town?
“And what are your concerns and priorities as you look forward to Wellington, tomorrow?"
Gideon Amos, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, will be attending the event.
