THE New Inn at Halse is hosting the maiden solo exhibition of local artist Sue Walsh which features a collection of local landscapes and still life pictures in oils and mixed media.
Sue has developed her own personal style of working over the last 20 years and enjoys nothing more than painting en plein air, and several of the pictures exhibited were produced in this way.
Wherever she goes Sue travels with a sketchbook and rather than taking photographs records her travels in pen and wash pictures. Some of these are then used as the basis for a picture back in her studio.
One of her mixed media pictures that was attracting a lot of interest features Watchet Harbour and is pictured below with the artist .
The artist is extremely grateful to the management of the New Inn at Halse for their support and for hosting the exhibition, that will remain on display at the Cafe until the end of April.
