AN independent women's fashion boutique hopes to see an increase in footfall after moving to a prime shopping location on Taunton's High Street.
Formally nestled in Riverside Place, the store can now be found close to the entrance to Bath Place in the High Street.
Owner Anne Baker made the move around six weeks ago, a decision that will hopefully prove fruitful. There was a steady flow of customers coming in and out when the County Gazette paid a visit to the new location.
Anne said she made the move to benefit from High Street footfall. Close to popular stores such as Boots, the Riverside House team hopes to retain their existing customer base but also attract new shoppers.
Anne said: "We sell clothes, jewellery, bags, accessories, just a wide range of everyday things.
"We have received positive feedback from customers. A lot of them say that we are reasonably priced."
Despite the move, Riverside House features the same products and staff.
Speaking about the store on Facebook, a spokesperson from the Taunton Independent Quarter, which celebrates the town's independent businesses, said: "Previously located in Riverside Place, they have now relocated to the High Street, right by the entrance to Bath Place.
"Same gorgeous products at really reasonable prices (I was eyeing up a beautiful green dress that was just £35) same friendly staff, same beautiful presentation…new premises!
"Make sure you pay them a visit for your fashion needs… jewellery, sunglasses, dresses, tops, scarves…they really do have a great selection!"
Brands featured in the store include Heyland & Whittle, Eyelevel and Magnetic and Forcyma, to name a few.
Riverside House also stocks skincare and luxury soap items from brands like Kew Royal Botanic Gardens.
Anne said that she tries to source items that people will like.
Posting previously on social media, a spokesperson from the business explained that the store is perfect for those looking for the ideal gift for a loved one: "We have many beautiful things to look at.
"We are also a great place to visit if you’re looking to get someone that special gift."
For the time being, Riverside House is staying put.
When asked about future plans, Anne added: "We will stay here and carry on."
