A conference in Somerset is set to discuss sustainability and gender dynamics in the furniture industry next month.
The third New Makers' Conference, organised jointly by design and joinery company Artichoke and The Furniture Makers' Company, is scheduled for Friday, May 10.
It will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm at Wells Museum.
The event will highlight issues pertinent to the industry and individuals seeking a successful career within it.
It will offer a chance for emerging talent to mix with peers and gain insights from seasoned professionals.
Key discussion points will include building a sustainable and viable business and brand, strategies for navigating gender issues, and the role sustainability plays in the industry.
Participants will learn methods for establishing a prosperous business in a competitive market, discuss challenges and opportunities related to gender imbalances, and uncover ways to boost inclusivity.
They will also delve into eco-friendly design methods.
Industry figures who will be speaking include Donna Bellingham, CEO of Shackletons, Daisy Brunsdon, designer-maker and TV tutor, Simon Burvill, founder of Gaze Burvill, and Ben Lihou, managing director of Artichoke.

Tickets for the New Makers' Conference are priced at £15, including refreshments and lunch.
Early registration is recommended in view of limited capacity.
