Members of the Foresters Friendly Society will head on an expedition across Hadrian's Wall to raise funds for Youth Sport Trust.
Glyn Carpenter from East Woodlands, Frome along with colleagues Trish, Helen and Alan, will be undertaking the journey.
Kicking off from Bowness on Solway on April 23, the team will traverse the wall for the next six days with stopovers in Carlisle, Walton, Bardon Mill, Chollerford and Heddon on the Wall.
The exercise, also dedicated to the memory of their late colleague Stephen Wrigley, will cover a total of 87 miles finishing at the east coast.
Glyn Carpenter said: "I’m thrilled to be taking part in this challenge in memory of Steve and for Youth Sport Trust".
He highlighted the trust's role in improving children’s development via sport and play, and the importance of donations, encouraging all to make contributions on their Just Giving page.
Ali Oliver, CEO at Youth Sport Trust, noted: "We are massively grateful to the team from Foresters for taking on this challenge, raising awareness, funds and inspiring families to be active."
Foresters Friendly Society president John Springham conveyed his gratitude towards the four walkers for their willingness to undertake the task and the potential impact the raised funds could have on young people's involvement in play and sport.
